The National Space Museum, Abuja recently welcomed cadets from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) for an insightful educational excursion aimed at deepening their understanding of space science and technology. The visit provided an opportunity for the cadets to explore Nigeria’s advancements in space exploration and satellite technology.
As part of their learning experience, the NDA cadets engaged with various exhibits showcasing the evolution of space science, Nigeria’s contributions to satellite development, and the critical role of space technology in national security, communication, and environmental monitoring. Guided by expert museum staff, the cadets gained firsthand knowledge of the nation’s space missions, including the achievements of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).
The excursion also featured interactive sessions where cadets had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the strategic importance of space technology in military operations, disaster response, and national development. The visit underscored the growing intersection between space science and national security, highlighting the need for continuous collaboration between defense institutions and space research agencies.
